Welcome To Spotlight Art

We, Karen, Gill and Margie, are three good long-term gym, church and painting friends. We share a mutual love for nature and creation, so we decided to combine our synergy in our individual, original acrylic artworks inspiring and encouraging each other with ideas, techniques and designs. Karen and Gill have formal art training whereas Margie brings a freshness in her outlook and naive art expressions.
We use our inherent creative bent to create artworks of wild animals and all things spiritual. Margie and Karen also paint the mystical and this is expressed in the form of angels and their protection over all of God’s creation- especially endangered wildlife.
We care about the natural environment. Our aim is to use some of our artworks to support wildlife conservation and we look forward to pursuing this endeavour more fully in the future.

Gill Lansom ‘GilA’

My love affair with wild animals started in childhood…

GilA’s love affair with wild animals started in childhood when her family visited the Kruger National Park during school holidays. Post high school, GilA attended the Johannesburg School of Art and thereafter was invited to attend George Boyes School of Art for artists with outstanding potential. Initially GilA worked in a display studio and thereafter has had many South African exhibitions plus two sell out exhibitions in New Zealand.
Her paintings are displayed in Botswana International Convention Centre, and in several South African 5 star hotels, as they capture the very nature of the African bushveld in fine detail. GilA uses her personal photography collection (acquired during visits to game parks with her husband Keith) as references for her work.
